I'm trying to build my first gaming pc and I want it to be pretty good but I only want to spend around $1500 and I don't know a lot a lot about gaming computers, just the basics so heres what i got so far.

CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU COOLER: be quiet! DARK ROCK TF 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler

MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

MEMORY: Team Vulcan 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

STORAGE: PNY CS1311 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive AND Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

VIDEO CARD: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SC GAMING Video Card

CASE: Corsair SPEC-ALPHA (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case

POWER SUPPLY: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

OS: windows 10

WIRELESS NETWORK ADAPTER: PCE-AC56 PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter

MONITOR: Acer GN246HL 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor

KEYBOARD: Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 Wired Gaming Keyboard

MOUSE: Corsair Sabre RGB Wired Optical Mouse

I don't know if I should get a 1440p monitor that only has a 60hz refresh rate or get the one that I listed that has 144hz I don't know if it really matters that much or not

Up the memory to something at or below 3200MHz to get that sweet spot in your system(when overclocked). The SSD seems like you could do better. On second thoughts, you forgot to list the prices of each component so we can understand you're not overpaying for each component or if there is some wiggle room.

GTX1060 is a good card for 1080p gaming. Anything higher(on terms of resolution) then you will need to look at a GTX1070/1080.
