So, I just got my new PC, and wanted to ask if it was good in your opinion! So here are the parts:

-CPU: i7-7700

-Graphics Card: Asus Strix GeForce GTX 1070/1080 , 8GB GDDR5 (YET TO BUY)

-HDD: Western Digital 1TB, 7200 RPM

-SSD: Crucial M.2 MX300, 275GB

-Power Supply: Corsair RM750i Fully Modular, 80 plus gold, 750w

-Motherboard: Asus Strix B250F

-Case: Corsair Carbide 400C, Black

-CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

-Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 (2x8GB), Black, 2400MHz

So, my question here is, since I have yet to buy my graphics card due to the one I previously ordered not arriving:

Since Black Friday will be here fairly soon, should I buy a "medium" graphics card or perhaps wait for Black Friday sales and get a 1070/1080?

Note: I currently have a FullHD monitor but I am planning to upgrade to 2k pretty soon.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
better go with 1080, 1070 price is pretty volatile right now
i dunno bout black friday sales since my country doesn't have that kind of event but considering those gpu might be pretty high tier and their stock already pretty low, i don't think u should wait too long (personal opinion of course, real american citizen might be able to give u better opinion 'bout this one, since im from other country and can give a really accurate opinion :))

as for your build, it's damn fine :) but personal opinion though, i think the PSU is a bit overkill, considering u don't even buy an unlocked CPU, u could've gotten away with 550w instead :) other than that, solid af 😀

Thank you

I went for a 750w as I found it at a very low price during Amazon's Gaming Week.

100€ instead of €160.

Btw, waiting for Black Friday sales since I cannot afford one at the price they currently are! :)

Your CPU isn't exactly future-proof, but other than that everything looks very good. The i7 7700 is only a 4-core 8-thread chip, while the upcoming Coffee Lake i7's will be 6-core 12-thread, or at least that's what the rumors are. If this is true, 4 cores will soon not be enough for games, and 6 cores will be the normal requirement. But it's a little too late for that, so I suppose you should just use the 7700 for as long as it will play(it still has some life left, don't worry), and then upgrade later.

As for the GPU decision, if you can, I'd suggest getting the GTX 1080, it's the best value right now, everything else in the mid-range is messed up. 1070 prices are highly unreasonable, 1060's aren't great either, so a GTX 1080 is the only option after the GTX 1060 3 GB. For 1440p, the GTX 1080 is a solid card, will play at ultra in most games, and at high in a handful others.

Good luck!

oh i see

btw, while what Shektron said is right, your system will last few years easily :) even when the 6 cores becomes the requirement, doesn't mean the dev would just leave the 4 core / the hyperthreading 2 core behind that easily, especially if they want a bigger marketing target :)
most probable case, they'll implement the 6 core / such as the recommended requirement (for the next few years)

if u already buy the whole system, just relax and use it till it really needs replacement
if u haven't bought it though, i'll suggest either go with ryzen right now / wait for the coffelake (ryzen is cheaper, but judging from the coffelake rumour, it's priced similarly with kabylake but offers more cores , it's should also had better single core speed than ryzen, if u don't mind waiting till it's release :))

At least he has hyper threading which will help quite a bit once games really start taking of with more than 4 cores (2017 was the start of the more than 4 core era).

The older i5's I see as being left in the dust in a matter of years unlike how a 2500k is still fine today a 7600k will have a harder time in 4years.
