Is this a good build?

Hello, I want to build a pc but I'm not sure which parts I need to buy

What I have in mind now is:

Motherboard: MSI B450
RAM: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8GB
Power supply: Corsair - CXM 550W 80+

I've read that the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 is a good CPU so I think I will stick with that one but if someone has a better option, I'd like to hear that.

My biggest concern is the GPU. Should I invest in a GTX 1060 6GB or a RX 580?

I'd like to hear if my build what I have in mind is good and which GPU I should buy.

For the other parts

Kinda looks like a gaming machine at 1080p res (60hz) If so, solid build, and agree with vapour about dual channel. Although I would add, that 8gb is sufficient for most older games in the last 2-3 years, but anything new like BF1, COD2 and AAA games coming down the line, all use upwards of 9gb system ram at 1080p. 16gb would be a good call. Otherwise for those types of games you may experience some stuttering as your 8gb system ram fills up and starts using the swap file (on HD/SSD) which is much slower than system ram.

I live in the Netherlands and my budget is around €800,-
I will use it for gaming, making music and normal stuff like youtube etc.

I read that AMD's temperatures are very high or something. Is that true or will it be a problem?

(thanks for the fast answer btw :) )

Yeah you're right about the RAM. Can you suggest me any or should I buy the Vengeance LPX 8GB 2 times.

Nah, Ryzen runs cooler actually, old FX is super hot.

That would be fine. Check the QVL for the mobo, and make sure the DIMMS are listed, this will ensure compatibility.

I think the OP is referring to the temp offset for Ryzen 1.0. To the OP, thats not an issue with Ryzen 2 and updated Ryzen 1.0 mobo's

Good build BTW. I'd still go for 16gb though.
