I wrote this up, and i'm gonna print it and store it for future use, is it accurate?
PC Component Capacitor Reforming Guide
IMPORTANT READ ME
After a electronic computer part/device that contains capacitors has been sitting in storage for a few years or even many years it needs to 'warm up” so the capacitors reform and “fix themselves”. You dont want to jump straight into the deep end and break stuff.
Graphics Card- Put into motherboard slot and plug gpu power cables in if the graphics card requires any, turn power supply on and plug power supply into motherboard but wait a few hours or even a day if its been in storage a looong time before turning pc on with power button
Motherboard- Connect power supply to motherboard and turn on power supply and plug in power supply but wait a few hours or even a day if its been in storage a looong time to power pc on with power button
Power Supply- plug power supply in and turn it on. Leave it on for a little while while doing nothing and not plugged into anything. Then plug into power supply into the Power Supply Start Up Jumper Bridge Tool that's also called a power supply self tester at times, (24 pin connector thats standalone that you plug power supply 24 pin into) NOT THE MOTHERBOARD. This allows the power supply to turn on while not being connected to a motherboard and only draw a little bit of power to reform capacitors, if the power supply has been in storage for a very long time, let it sit for a day like this, or even more than 1 day to be safe if you want. After that then plug the power supply into motherboard and let it sit for a little before pressing power button, after you let everything sit for a little turn the motherboard on with power button and then just sit in bios for a while, after that install an os but after the os is installed just let everything sit and dont do anything intensive for a little while.
After the reforming is done on a graphics card, power supply or motherboard let the pc sit in the bios for a little then after an os is installed just let it sit and do nothing for a while before you play a game or do something taxing on the system.
