this computer will be used for gaming and some video editing with a light overclock. this is my first PC build and i don't want to mess is up, just wanting to make sure all the components will work well together and they are not bad quality, thanking you in advance.

Solution
I like your build for the most part.

One suggestion is to use a tower type cooler. Downdraft coolers are not as effective. I use a Noctua NH-U12s and have no problems with a 6600K@4.8.
Noctua comes with very good thermal paste; no AS5 is needed.

Why windows 8.1?

I am not a fan of windows 10, but it seems to me that you will be going there anyway.
I might suggest the more expensive PRO version which gives you some control over when and how updates are done.

Solution
Thanks for the help. i chose windows 8.1 because i'm not the biggest fan of 10 and wanted to see if it was any good. and i have also changed my cooler to the one geofelt mentioned.

Why not build with windows 7.
Extended support is currently 2020.
If half the world is still on windows 7 then, support will possibly be extended.
Today, I see nothing critical to incent me to move to windows 10.
I tried it on a desktop and rolled back.
I have it in a laptop and do not like it much.
We might see a windows 10 requirement for some functions in upcoming kaby lake or it's chipsets.

please ditch windows 8.1, i have used it myself for a week and it is terrible, everything is very basic because it is mainly implimented onto tablets with small screens. windows 7 is much better
