Is this a good custom build for gaming?

Everything looks fine. Many people will prefer an intel build at this level as they don't create as much heat and are more powerful.

For the 8350, the Hyper 212 doesn't cool it as well as others. I would suggest the NH-D14 or the h100i; you should only need 2 extra fans instead of 4 this way to.

The S12ii is great (I own one) but considering you could get one just as good for $30 less, I would get this one instead

The last thing, is the monitor you picked, It's a TN panel. They are rather old tech and an IPS is much better. I have a TN and a IPS monitor side by side right now and it's easy to tell the difference in quality 😛

Asus make affordable IPS monitors and I prefer them, but there are lots of good brands

The only downside is you will need to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler down the line later.

And that's not a big issue IMO, especially with the nice bump in cpu power.

the reviews show that this monitor is actually really pretty apparently. I would've gotten Intel but it increased my price dramatically. Also the monitor has a 2ms(GTG) response time

My build is intel, and costs the same, it is cheaper initially and like $7 more after mail in/rebates...


Like I said only downside is no aftermarket cpu cooler. No big deal though when getting such a nice bump up in performance.

The case Im getting has one fan and it is very loud so if I get 2 fans and remove the first one, where should i put those 2 aftermarket fans?
