iIf I have to buy a good motherboard too, is a 7700k for 200 better or worse than a 6850k for 150? Again both brand new and unopened.

Primary use is gaming and possible vr

Super new to this hoping to get some insight from the forum. Any suggestions for good motherboards ($150-$300) with integrated sound and wireless for either socket is greatly appreciated as well.

Either option would be overkill for gaming anyway, so I think that is more of a how much money are you willing to spend question. In terms of motherboards, anything from ASUS on either socket will be a good top-of-the-line option. Gigabyte also has some flashy boards in that price range as well.
