Hai guys,

Buying a new gpu and saw this deal on rx 580 in mdcomputers is this a good one ? Or shall i go with GTX 1650 Super

Both the RX 580 8GB and GTX 1650 Super are about the same right now, some games AMD will perform better and some games Nvidia will perform better. The 8GB vram might make the RX 580 last longer with performance, but the GTX 1650's lower power consumption might make it last longer in durability.

Both are good choices for the money.

RX 580 is a faster card by around 10-20fps, but it requires nearly double the power of the GTX 1650. The GTX 1650 is closer in performance to the RX 570. The GTX 1650 uses far less power than the RX 570 or 580 and could mean the difference between needing a new power supply or getting by with what you have. Before buying any new graphics card, check that you have a sufficient power supply. The GTX 1650 only needs a single 6pin PCIE cable and a 350-400watt PSU. The RX 580 requires a 550-650watt PSU and a 6+2 (8pin) PCIE cable.

You will likely have fewer issues related to power requirements with the GTX 1650 which are negated by upgrading the power supply to handle the RX 580. The resolutions these cards are capable of running won't be much higher than 1920x1080/1200 at 60fps. The only reason you would need more 4GB of vram is if you are using official high resolution textures packs or high resolution texture mods with games like Skyrim. Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC using medium-high settings uses only around 2.8-3.2GB of vram at 1920x1080.

How about 1060 6gb does it also require more watts than a 1650 does ?

The GTX 1060 6GB uses about 25watts more power than the 1650 and both GPUs require a single 6pin PCIE cable from the PSU. If power is your only real issue, the 1650 is probably your best choice over the RX 570/580 and probably cheaper than the 1060 6GB, unless you are getting the 1060 6GB used.

Personally spealing the stock 1650 should not have existed.It's like the gtx 1050 2gb.There's no place for them.The 1650 super are a lot better buy but i reckon you don't want to fork out extra for a 1650 super so the plain one is the best bet

It's not a totally terrible deal considering the prices on the other cards, but I would only get the 1060 6GB if the other cards are not available. The GTX 1650 Super you listed is cheaper and faster by about 10fps over the 1060 6GB, but is 10fps slower than the RX 580. The GTX 1650 or 1650 Super are the best cards to get if you don't want to replace the power supply to run the RX 580.

Yeah I have no plan in replacing the power supply and in a dilemma 1650 super or the 1060 6gb is a GDDR6 4gb = GDDR5 8 gb?
