I plan on buying another 980 ti down the road which is why I have such a large psu and the ram is for the video editing and rendering first pc build so any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!

A 5820k would be better, and cheaper, for video editing. Probably would up the PSU, to a larger capacity one, for handling that second 980ti, and overclocking.

that was what i was unsure about if i should wait or buy the ti

Your build is good overall, my suggestion:

- Noctua NH-D15 Air-Cooler (cheaper, more silent, no maintaince, no risk of leaking and better cooling)
http://www.relaxedtech.com/reviews/noctua/nh-d15/8

- MSI Krait Z170, suberb mobo that is sli ready, overclocks well and has m.2. support.

- 64 GB DDR4-3200 ram (you can downgrade to 32 if you want, but for heavy videoediting, this can save you alot of time)

- Proper drive setup for workstations includes 3 drives. I included the award winning lightning fast M.2. SSD from Samsung (950 Pro) along with another SSD from Samsung and a 2 TB storage drive. This is optimal for work, read loading and boot times.

- Coolermaster Mastercase Pro 5 case, great case, with good cooling, space USB 3 and all the goodies.

- Corsair AX760 PSU (I have 2 of them), excellent PSU with the tightest voltage regulation and ripple supression that is SLI ready and will optimize overclocking potential.

Although your suggestions for a work station are helpful but this is truly mostly a gaming build with fast rendering capabilities.

I tend to agree with you, the 5820 is a better choice. i7-6700 has no problems with doing video rendering since after it has 4 cores/8 threads. But 6 cores will give a slight lead and so will almost double the cache. For a smaller price, your suggestion is better.

@Nickk32
Well they are similar, because a budget workstation pc is in essence just a topend gaming pc with 3 drives, more rams and a crafty cpu. The gaming version, would have just have 2 drives, 8 GB ram and - price/performance taken into consideration, switch i7-6700K with i5-6xxx(k)
