Anything i can improve on without going too far over $700? the build is currently at $680
I'm open to any suggestions... besides completely redoing the build 😛
Thanks in advance!

P.S. i do plan on overclocking when i get an aftermarket heatsink

Edit: no need to overclock, games don't benefit a lot from CPU overclocking.

Solution

i know but his build had to be re-done, it sucked.

I know, I have come to face the terms that whenever I make a build, there's always something I could have done better. Time and patience are two things I don't have, but I can learn. I have had luck with some builds but if I didn't need help with my builds I wouldn't be on this site.

Well, as much as i'd like to use his build, i have a few accessories that would put the build over my budget... so if he lowered it by like $90 i'd go with it.

That's not my fault, you said you have a 700$ budget.

Sorry, probably should've mentioned that... any chance you can bring the price down with that? doesn't have to be a full $90 but maybe around $50 less.
And also i feel like i should overclock my cpu becuase emulators are more cpu intensive to run, the minimum requirement for one of my emulators is a 3.2 ghz processer and i'd rather have it higher than minimum requirements

No need to overclock at all, a PC GAME like crysis 2 will run flawlessly on a 3470 so it should run any emulator butter-smooth.

I DO NOT recommend you this build, for 50$ you can get a MUCH better CPU..... come'on! do a little effort and buy the one i linked above.... Will you buy the OS ?

I suppose i could try for a better processer, and i don't need an OS, i'll stick with my 40 gb hard drive i listed since i have a 1tb external hard drive i got last year, and would the gtx 560 be a good graphics card? i'll be running things @ 1080p on medium settings and thanks for lowering the price a bit!

i strongly recommend you to get the 3470.... besides, whats 50$ nowdays???

to a 15 year old without a job, quite a bit xD but yeah, ill definitely shoot for that. and also on the absolute lowest settings my 2.3 ghz processer ( athlon ii x2 p360) pcsx2 (a ps2 emulator) runs less than 1 frame a second... What's wrong with using the i5 2500k? sorry for not knowing much, this is my first build 😛

Do not use your age as an excuse for not having money, when i was 9 i didn't have a job but i used to make about 100$ a week selling pictures of playboy magazines for 5$ a piece.

There is nothing wrong with the 2500k, but you will need a bit more expensive P67/Z68/Z77/Z75 motherboard to overclock it.... find the extra 50$ and buy the rig i originally posted.

Alright (nice way to make money as a 9 year old too xD) thanks for all the help! i'm planning on finding a job soon too

that not much of an excuse for not having 50 extra bucks

Yep, make sure to find a job ASAP and learn everything you can..... this is an advice from very wealthy person: don't get used to work for someone else, work for yourself, start your own big thing and ALWAYS do it by the book... but be the author.
