Is this a good gaming build ?

Hello there. about to buy a lot of new kit to make a nice little gaming desktop.

so far i have bought a GTX 580 graphics card

i plan to buy:

new case. - as yet undecided, help me out ? (preferably one to stop heat pool and fit everything comfortably )
new mobo. ( AS Rock z77 extreme 4 )
new processer (15-3750k)
Corsair powersupply (600 - 700w what do you recommend?)

have a budget of around £400 not sure what that is in $

Buying later tonight so would appreciate any advice i.e is there anything i could get for the same price that will do a better job.
i enjoy higher end gaming e.g Max skyrim + mods, Arma series, crysis etc.

The GTX 580 is a power hog and heat machine. In a system with a highly overclocked, power-hungry i7 965, power draw at full load was 447W: http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-580-review/7 Nvidia recommends a 600W PSU. The PSU must have one 75W 6-pin PCIe and one 150W 8-pin PCIe power connectors and should have 42A on the 12V rails. Total watts is not as important as amperageon the 12V rails; the GPU/CP are the two largest power draws in modern PCs and get most of their power from the 12V rails. The XFX Core 550W is actually sufficient for your build; it has 44A on the 12V rails and sufficient PCIe connectors. It is a good quality PSU mfr by Seasnic for XFX. If you feel that you want some extra headroom for possible OC, then I would go for the XFX Core 650W: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-xfx-pro-series-core-edition-p1-650s-ukb9-85-eff-80-plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-fan-atx-v2

If you're looking at the Corsair GS600 or GS700, then save the money and get one of the XFX PSUs. The Corsair Gaming series PSUs are made by a reputable mfr, CWT. The XFX units made by one of the top mfrs, Seasonic, and are at least on par with the new Gaming Series PSUs (V2) from Corsair and they are better quality than the older, original models. If you were looking at the Corsair Enthusiast series, then the PSUs are comparable in quality (both are actually made by Seasonic).

If you go with the XFX Core 550W SU recommendations and you're other parts from above, then you have about 60 left for the case. Here are a few options that fit that price range:

thankyou man i appreciate the help. its true my 580 pools heat at an unbelievable rate. i shall check out the powersupply you recommended too, thinking of stretching my budget by 50 to buy the aero cool x predator case, cheers man
