I'm building a gaming pc for the first time and I just want some second opinions on my build.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570k $219.99

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H $159.99

RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 $69.99

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclocked $419.99

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 $84.50

SSD: Sandisk Extreme 240GB SATA $174.99

Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750 $114.99

Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $36.99

Hardrive: WD Blue 1 TB $66.61

Optical Drive: Asus OEM Drive $22.79

Windows 7 $90.91

My budget is $1500 and the total of these came out to be right around that. Just wondering if anyone has any better suggestions for my build.

A socket 1155 CPU will not work in a socket 1150 motherboard. You need to get something like the 4670k for that Z87 motherboard. You could also save a few bucks and get the 750w XFX psu, its just as good as the Corsair unit but costs less. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207023&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Thanks for pointing that out, rookie mistake on my part. I'll just get the 4670k instead. All the stuff I have listed here is from amazon.

Your budget allocation is good.
1. Since the 3570k will not work with a Z87 motherboard, use the 4670K instead.
Microcenter will sell you one for $200 if you live near.
2. You can find a Z87 motherboard for about $120. Do not exclude M-ATX which is usually cheaper. Here is one for $115:

3. No need for fast ram or fancy heat spreaders. I might suggest something like this:

4. Samsung and intel ssd's seem to be less troublesome. From a performance point of view, they are all the same. At the same price, I would pick Samsung 840. 240gb is a good size. It will hold the os and quite a good number of games. Why not defer on the hard drive until you need more space?
