I will be buying the parts for a new gaming rig build in a month or so. This is my first time with all of this so I am a bit nervous about my choices so far. This pc will be used primarily for gaming, but also general internet use and music recording with reaper and other recording software.

Also, is it worth it to buy Windows 7 Full or just SP1?

Much better 😀

thanks! are the mail in rebates actually worth it? also, i need to buy a decent monitor. I found an acer G226HQLBbd for 109.99 through newegg, i just need something simple and under $150. do you have any suggestions?

Any monitor will do, but IPS monitors have the best color profile so if you can, look for an IPS one.

If you are referring to this one

then yes that monitor is fine

or, you could go with this Asus which is a bit more
http://

Basically any 1080p monitor with a refresh rate of 5ms or less is perfectly fine for gaming
