Im planning on building a budget gaming pc and I wonder if these specs would cope with playing games like Minecraft, Garrys Mod and Grand Theft Auto 5.

CPU: AMD FX-6350 Six Core
GPU: 4GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960
RAM: 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X FURY DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz
HDD: 2TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 64MB CACHE
Monitor: 3x ASUS VE228TR 21.5" LED DISPLAY, D-Sub, DVI-D
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 AM3+

The game that will be the most graphically intense would be either Grand Theft Auto 5 or Battlefield 4. Would this pc be able to cope with High - Ultra settings at 1080p? And also is 3 monitors too much?

This is money better spent. 3 monitors is too much and unnecessary, its better to take that money and invest it into the CPU and GPU. You didnt list your price range, so I did a $1000 build. If your looking to spend only $800 as your budget, I can make changes to the build to suit your needs. :)

Solution

I agree that your build is more efficient but the price of the build (computer only) was $650 and the rest ($500) would be spent on monitors a keyboard, mouse and loads of accessories. When you said that 3 monitors is too much, I don't plan on using the computer as just a gaming pc because I am a developer so I would think that 3 monitors would be good but im not an expert on that kind of stuff. And the specs that I chose, would they run GTA 5 on High settings?

3 monitors is just your preference, I dont know if it would "help" while doing gaming develop. Theres no performance increase of having them, except being able to look at multiple applications on multiple screens. The specs you chose would probably be able to run GTA 5 on medium. Heres the issue going with your build. The FX is old and not suitable for anytime of gaming/video/audio development IMO. You would be better off getting a R9 280x because it out performs the gtx 960.

Honestly I would try and raise your budget to $1500 which includes PC and accessories, you will get a better PC, without sacrificing long longevity and performance while developing.

No not at all your wasting your money. I remember reading another forum on here, and someone posted a benchmark showing the CPU temps and it was ridiculous how hot they got. Intel chip is the way to go for developing.
