asus gryphon z87
intel core i5 4570
1tb wd 7200 rpm
corsair tx bronze 750 watts
it's my 1st time building a gaming pc, and im thinking about asus gtx650ti or asus gtx660ti . . . which gpu should i pick? any suggestions?
do i need to have a h20 cooling? im not going to overclock it. . .
thanks in advance. . .
First off, I prefer Asrock over Asus for tech support reasons but they're both good in my opinion. The CPU is fine but I suggest getting an intel CPU for $215 or more if you're going to run some heavy games. If you want to play your games on ultra, forget the 650ti. I have the EVGA 660ti FTW edition and it can run most games on ultra but games like Far Cry 3, Metro Last Light, Batman Arkham City suffer a little bit in terms of framerate. Metro Last Light is the only one that bothers me because the other two run on 30-50fps most of the time. The PSU seems to have way more wattage than you need for your setup. Heres what I built recently to give you a good idea. Remember, my rig can run 99% of current games on ultra at 60fps but it won't hold up too well in a year from now.
Intel Core i5-3570k 3.40ghz overclockable up to 3.8ghz.
EVGA GTX 660ti FTW
Seagate 7200rpm HDD (good as secondary but outdated. I suggest getting this type of hard drive and an electronic one as your primary.)
Asrock z77 extreme 4 motherboard (around 150usd)
Coolermaster CPU cooler (you need one of these for better cooling than your stock cpu fan. The one I got was about 30usd and it keeps everything nice and frosty)
Asus cd burner (don't forget you might need one of these)
Seasonic 620watt PSU bronze certified
Corsair Vengeance 8gb ddr3 (4gbx2)
This works fine for me but I have a feeling I'll have to upgrade to a gtx670 or gtx680 within the year or try some 660ti sli if I find a sufficient cooling solution.
Almost forgot. You don't need water cooling but its always nice and looks fancy. Don't try it though if its your first time building a rig. You need to keep it as simple as you can. Also, search for neweggs computer building guide on youtube. That helped me alot my first time.
