• Happy holidays, folks! Thanks to each and every one of you for being part of the Tom's Hardware community!

Is this a good gaming pc?

4gb of ram is not enough for high quality games

I would change the RAM for this kit:

And the mobo i would change for one of the following:

Faster and cheaper

Faster and cheaper where?

No ram?
120GB of space ISNT enough for a gaming pc
And the video card is worst than the 290
Why do you buy a 130 windows when you can buy a cheaper one and get windows 10 for free as the other guy said?
And i still dont recommend that mobo

EDIT:

You should get cheaper parts just because you dont want to spend money, you need to buy something high quality.

That is over your budget, but the 290 is way better than the 280x, it also has a better PSU and a better motherboard, the windows 7 is better, 120GB SSD is good, but not big enough for a gaming pc, so a 1tb hdd is better.

If you dont want to go over 900 you could drop down to a 280x, still a good deal but not faster as the other guy said lol

lol I just took and edited the OP's build. He didn't have RAM listed so I didn't add it assuming he already had it. Same thing with a hard drive. I did NOT notice the $130 windows though so good catch.

Here is my edit

Your motherboard offers crossfire support and better audio, but is that really a deal breaker here? The psu you recommend would not support crossfire anyway. There is nothing wrong with the H97 Anniversary. I have used it several times. It is perfectly acceptable for his build.

The psu I chose is made by Seasonic just like yours. It's a great unit. You make it sound like I'm recommending 3rd rate parts.
