So the only thing that I should change is the graphics card? I don't think I need a high one because CSGO and Minecraft aren't really graphically demanding games

Wait... Finstar just brought to my attention that your memory is incompatible. So you're old parts list won't work at all.

Whether you go with your list or my list, I would suggest upgrading to an SSD in the future and using your HDD for storage.

Nope nope nope...
First of all: your ram won't work with the mobo and cpu you chose
Second: you chose the cheapest budget mobo for cpu that's meant for overclocking (in short: you're putting money into something you can't do)
Third: That gpu is just bad, doesn't matter are you on budget or not. for slightly more you can get R7 360 that will be infinitely better than the gt 740
Just tell me your budget and preferred store and i'll tell you what to get.

It would not work... he used ddr4 ram with ddr3 mobo...

Well we both gave it a 6500.. I selected a higher chipset and more RAM, but Finstar selected a more capable video card.

Maybe transplant the RX 480 into my build? It would also save some money.

Finstar, I admit that you're entirely correct. I should have been suggesting a GPU that offers more FPS per $

i'd say mine but that because it's mine lol
here's explanation:
1. the rx 480 is infinitely better than gtx 970, not only is it cheaper it's also newer faster and will get massive performance gains from vulkan and dx12 once they become standard (there's already many games that support them)
2. my build had the original monitor you chose which has 144hz refresh rate compared to his 60hz one
3.he used ram from manufacture i've never heard of and while he had 16gb and i have just 8gb mine is made by g.skill which is widely regarded as the best RAM manufacture there is.
on cpu and mobo they are pretty much the same.

The human eye can only see 24FPS anyway. That's why they make movies in 24FPS. Therefore I see no point on a 144Hz monitor.

"he used ram from manufacture i've never heard of"

You've never heard of GeIL? Five stars in the Newegg link on PCPartPicker. I admit G.Skill is good, but I've had one of their kits fail prematurely on me... And their service wasn't the greatest. I ended up just buying a replacement because they took a literal month to replace my faulty kit.
