Is this a good gaming rig?

First time building one and just need someones opinion on all the parts I've picked, like if its all compatible or not.

Motherboard: Z87 Pro Socket LGA 1150 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz

Memory/ram: XMS3 Series 16GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL 11 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 8GB Memory Modules)

video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Superclocked w/ACX Cooler 3072MB GDDR5 PCIe x16 3.0 Video Card

Power supply: HX Series HX850 850 Watt ATX 12V Modular Power Supply

Main drive: 840 EVO Series 250GB SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive

secondary drive: Desktop Mainstream 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Case: Crafted Series Phantom 410 Mid Tower ATX Computer Case - Black

Display: (1) ASUS PA248Q Widescreen 24.1" IPS LED Monitor.

Well since you did put a non-k CPU in there initially, an aftermarket cooler is not really necessary. But if you do intend to overclock, an aftermarket is recommended, well, pretty much requird. The stock cpu cooler is -barely- good enough to operate at stock speeds.

If you do plan on overclocking, you can buy the i5-4670k, and buy the aftermarket CPU cooler when you are ready to do so, but I would suggest just getting it now with the rest of your parts.

But other than that, everything looks great.


wow ok I'm a little surprised thats all i have to change being my first build and all but, thanks! and also whats so bad about the stock cpu cooler?
