Solution
Try getting the i5 6400.It costs the same as the 4460 (At least where I live :) )
You can then later upgrade to kaby lake if needed as it will use the same socket
Looks well balanced, fps will depend on resolution and game settings but you should get 45+ fps at 1080p on high settings.

450w is plenty for your build but 550w may make future upgrades easier such as higher end gpu and CPU, your setup is well placed for future upgrades. There is some debate on 2gb v 4gb with the 960. Having seen a few reports of people hitting 2gb and suffering stuttering at 1080p in games like GTA V I would get the 4gb. Even if you get the 2gb and encounter these problems it's easily fixed by dropping game settings

Agreed UP^
Try getting a better psu
If you are ok with 8GB then make it 2x4GB(dual channel) but not a big issue
4GB 960 is not much costlier than the 2GB version so try getting that but you can take on pretty much any game at 1080p.
You should get 60 on most of them.Except for badly optimised ones of course :)

I personally prefer your first build but with a better PSU. This build will perform similar, maybe a bit better in CPU heavy games but it has no future upgrade path. The motherboard socket and DDR3 are now last generation. When you want to upgrade this setup you will need to start from scratch. Its a good build, I just would prefer your first build
