not sure if this is the right section for this post, if not im sorry. long story short, i brought a gigabyte g1 gtx 970 and it has fan sensor problems and i can rma the card for a brand new one from gigabyte, i am thinking about waiting for the amd 300's to release before i rma my card so that when i do i will have a brand new gtx 970 to sell. would i be able to sell it as new and get near top dollar for it or would it be considered used(the card i get after i rma my bad card)?

anyways im looking for thoughts on my plan, looking at a 390/390x when they release

Solution
RMAs deal with the company you purchased the card from (i.e. Newegg, TigerDirect, MicroCenter, etc...) and generally only have a 30 day return period from the date of sale.

Beyond 30 days, you need to deal with the manufacturer warranty (Gigabyte in this case) and they have no obligation to send you a "brand new" anything. First, they will attempt to fix the card. If they are able, then you will get your original card back. If they are unable to fix the card, they may send you a factory refurbished card (still not new).

If the fan sensor is a significant issue and you are within 30 days of your date of sale, RMA the card now and get a new one now.
