Question Is this a good idea?

So i travel once a year between two houses and i need a way to transport my pc with me so i am thinking to buy a smaller case or something. i am not looking to buy a laptop. What is the best way to do this?

that tends to cost a lot and my range is only 400$ i am looking to upgrade my gpu cpu and case with that money

Use a micro ATX or mini ITX motherboard in a small case. They could be as potent as any full ATX.

a bad one for sure
so a little backstory
i had bought the pc second hand and when i goit it the case was completely broken
cd-rom was sliding out of place, no pci covers, dust covers removed. So i was thinking from the begging to buy a good case

Fair enough, I thought if it was only once a year with a good case then there would be little reason to replace it. For traveling I would avoid heavy air coolers.

Why an APU when you are already planing on discrete GPU ? You'd be better off with 1600x or 2600(x).
