Hello, looking to buy a 144hz monitor, down to a couple of choices. what is the difference in these monitors besides the price?

Both are good but the reason I went w/ Asus was most reviewers give the nod to the Asus or the equivalent BenQ model in this price / performance niche. If you do a little googling, you will find....

Asus provides rapid replacement exchange warranty (3 years)
Asus is much sturdier build .. almost twice the weight.
Amazon price is $80 below what VG248QE normally sells for, so thats a great deal
Asus outsells the Acer about 4 to 1
Owners on newegg rate the Asus at 5 eggs 72% of the time; Acer only 61%
Asus offers Display Port and DVI-D, Acer D-Sub and DVI
Asus offer height adjustment, Tilt, Pivot and Swivel ... Acer just Tilt
Asus has speakers

If ya want to see the spec differences you can just use the newegg compare function ... but that is kinda a wasted effort as manufacturer specs are just not "real".
