Title. If this needs improving or anything else, let me know. I'm a complete newbie, so any help would be appreciated.

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Strix 8GB @ 1657 MHz

CPU: I5 7600k 3.8GHZ (4.2 with boost) w/ quad core

Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z270-A LGA1151

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W

Cooling: Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100i V2

(I also already got 2 monitors to run with this if it's good.
LG 25" UltraWide 2560x1080 5ms
Acer 24" 1920x1080 @144Hz, 1ms.)

Oh, yes. I forgot about the RAM and case. What would you suggest? I have all the stuff bookmarked, but don't know which case or RAM to get.

Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4 2400 - low price and low profile - can't go wrong.

Get 8Gb if you're on a budget, 16Gb if you want peace of mind.

Case is based on your budget and preference. Corsair has good priced fancy cases, but thin metal and cheap screws. Cooler Master is solid if you can afford them.

Ok, thanks. I'm willing to pay more though. Is 16gb good enough for gaming, or will I need more to keep up with the modern games?

I run 8Gb on an i7 7700k + GTX 1070 build and have never exceeded 8Gb, which is why I said 16Gb will give you peace of mind. I play all kind of games.

Anything over 16Gb on a consumer desktop is just for bragging rights.

Alright, thanks. I'll be buying all the stuff soon, just wanted to make sure it was a good build before going around spending a couple thousand on bad components...

I hear ya. I have the exact same build essentially but with an i7 and it's going strong.

Personally I don't like my ASUS Strix 1070 that much. Low overclocking, poor power delivery, and bad software. I wish I had went with MSI. That's my opinion though, read reviews and decide for yourself.

The only games I am aware that regularly exceed 8GB of system memory are BF1, GTAV with mods, Skyrim with mods. That will change over time, but since the consoles still have 8GB total, we will be around there for a while, and only those games that really push the envelope will commonly exceed it.

Well for the most part I can say much about value/pricing because you didn't list any prices....

What model is that PSU? If it's the NEX series, it's not a very good PSU. Try for something like a g2, G3, corsair RMx or bitfenix whisper.

Also, 750w is overkill. This build won't even use 400w under load so you'll get away with a quality 450w PSU. 550w will offer more comfortable headroom to play with.

Alright, I changed it to a Corsair CX Series 500W.

That isn't really better than the nex PSU. Look for an EVGA g2, G3, corsair RMx or bitfenix whisper.

Changed it to a Corsair RMx 550W then.
