Is this a good PC for the money?

In the market for a new gaming computer. Considering this one with some customization options switched around a bit. https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Crystal-Series-Xtreme
Is this a good choice? I know Cyberpower seems to get a bad name around here, but my current gaming PC is a Cyberpower that I purchased years ago and it still works; it's just outdated. Budget is somewhere between $2000-2500. Doesn't have to have a 1080 ti. Infact, I downgraded the customization options on this computer to the MSI 1070 ti gaming edition to save me some money. My friend claims I should build, but it seems to be only about $200-300 cheaper to build it myself. All of the other big name makers like Origin don't fit into my budget with what Cyberpower can offer. Looking for any advice or opinions. Thanks in advance!

You are lucky that your cyberpower rig worked at all. Their quality control is pretty poor. That cooler is not sufficient for an an 8700k, and no gaming rig needs 32gb ram. PSU is a decent unit, but for a rig such as this, the quality should be better.

Can you explain why 32gb RAM is overkill? Also, The cooling unit was one of the things I upgraded. I am pasting below the exact customization options that I chose. No other manufacturers put me in that price range for a similar build :/

Gotcha. If I downgrade the RAM to 16gb and the 8086k to the 8700k, then it gets my price down to just over $2400. pcpartpicker gives me all the same parts for right around $2000. I have never built a full system before. Ive upgrade RAM, Video cards, PSUs in the past. Never done anything related to installing the entire motherboard, CPU, thermal pasting, cooling systems etc. Basically I thinking these are my 2 best current options. Do I want to save $400 dollars or so and try to put it all together myself or pay Cyberpower for the custom rig?

Here is the pcpartpicker list of parts that I chose as a similar build, except I opted for the 1TB m.2 PCIe NVMe instead of the 500 with a SATA HDD. Can always get a SATA later if I need for media stuff. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QbpMTB

Yea, I did not see your upgrades, clicking your link. That is much better, on cooling, and PSU. If you decide to build yourself, a Seasonic Focus gold, or Evga G2/G3, of the same wattage, are very good and significantly cheaper. Motherboard has network ports, so not sure why you have an addon card in there. Arctic silver isn't needed either. 1070ti is overpriced. For a bit more, than your price, you could get a GTX 1080ti.

Logan, I like the build you recommended for me. I am fine with upgrading to the 1080 ti and that looks like a good one. Will that Seasonic PSU run as quietly as the Corsair? Also, why not thermal paste? And you were referencing the motherboard having a wired ethernet slot so I dont need the card? I just assumed the card was an upgrade? I cannot tell, but it looks like the case I chose already includes 3x Corsair RGB fans. I feel like maybe I will just build my own and give it a shot. Where do I go to purchase the cables and screws etc to mount and install all the hardware? Do I need the upgraded cables like the Phanteks cables that Cyberpower offers as an upgrade?

Seasonic is the top dog in PSU's. I see no reason why it would be worse, in any way, than Corsair. The cooler will come with thermal paste. The motherboard has Ethernet already. There is 0 need to get that wired card. I didn't change the case, from the one you had on PCPP. I changed some things, for savings, without sacrificing real world performance, while increasing graphics capability. You don't need those Phanteks cables. The case will come with the mounts and screws needed for the install.

Awesome, thanks for the advice man! As far as tools to assemble the build, I just need a #2 Phillips screwdriver and a static guard wrist brace?

One thing I was concerned about is maybe getting a full size case instead of a mid. My friends that have build all say they wish they had gotten a full. I was looking at the Phanteks cases line. Seemed to have good reviews. Could you recommend some good full towers?

I have never used those wrist braces. Phanteks Enthoo Pro is a nice full tower for the money.

If choosing between that Phanteks Entho Pro and Corsair 750D Airflow Edition...which would you go with? Both save me money.

Probably the Phanteks, just because that larger fan, in the front, should be quieter, than the two smaller fans on the front of the Corsair. You really cannot go wrong with either case though. I went from a full tower, to mini-itx, myself.
