Are the PC parts good enough for VR gaming?

So this is my first time ever building a PC. I'm planning to build it for VR gaming and I'm planning to buy parts and build the PC near the summer holidays. Does anyone have any useful links for new builders? I know there are lots on youtube but does anyone have anything that they personally found useful?

Thoughts on going Ryzen and AM5? If you were looking for a long term support build AM5 is supposed to be supported for the next 4.5 years.
to be honest I have no idea. Im slowly looking into how I can build a PC so I don't know what you're talking about atm. Ill definitely consider what you're saying once I've learned a bit about pc's

Realistically for what youre doing, even with VR, you dont have to spend 4k CAD. You could get a good build for around half of that and upgrade in the future as needed.
I sort of understand that, I might get a cheaper CPU. But like ideally I'm hoping to get stuff similar to the list because its better than my prebuilt, which is probably a mid range PC and is still struggling a bit to run vr at high quality. So basically, I'm building PC to be able to run vr on high graphics and to withstand some other high end games I play for a smooth experience

to be honest i don't think i'd be able to tell you anything useful since I haven't gone to that store, or any other PC parts store yet. I do have discord, if you want to chat you can message me or just reply with your username and I'll add you

Just throwing this out there, if you did want to look at cards other than the 4080 youve got some more options, at the very least you can look at the RX 7900 XTX. The 7900 XTX offers up a bit more performance for generally less if you don't count ray tracing, and honestly you shouldn't, at least not yet, theres nothing that really makes it a must have feature yet, and by the time there is, you'll likely need a new card anyway. I just threw something together with a more mid range cpu, same amount of ram, same amount of storage, 850w psu instead of 1kw, and an RX 6950xt that has around 80% of the performance of an RTX 4080 at 1080p and 1440p, it is a blow out at 4k though, with the RTX 4080 leading by 35%, but for 80% more money. I've attached the RX 7900 XTX review because it has all the cards mentioned, and Toms CPU hierarchy. I'm just letting you know you have options is all, you could get like 80%+ of the performance, for half of the price.

The 7900xtx is definitely an option. PCPP is showing one that is about $100 less than that 4080 I linked earlier.
