I am wanting to get it because I want to get the new AMD rx 480 8gb. Is it a good choice?

Yes. its probably a little overkill for a single rx 480. but the simple answer to your question is yes its a fine power supply.

Personal thoughts though is i Don't like CWT made PSU's I prefer Seasonic / Super Flower as the oem, This however is a personal preference.
