If you want better price/performance ratio then a i5 4690 is probably better value.
It won't make much difference to performance and you will save a lot of money.

Also its worth going up to a 2TB or 3TB drive.
1TB will get filled eventually.

H97 and i7-4790k are not ideal because you cannot overclock on a H97 motherboard. You only can on a Z97.

No it won't. By the way, if this is your concern, you shouldn't pay so much for the i7-4790k but buy the E3-Xeon E3 1231 which is the same CPU that's clocked a bit lower and has no onboard graphics. That way you get more value for cash.

And overclocking exactly helps the CPU to be more future proof. It gives it more power.

Im from Ireland so i use any of the european amazon sites, generally i find ram and cpus are cheaper on the spanish site

Yes its 12 percent stronger and the i7 4790k is 7 percent better than the i7 4790

The only difference is that the i7-4790 is clocked at 4.0 Ghz and the Xeon at 3.4 Ghz. Other than that It's the same processor. But if It's cheaper then ofcourse you should go for the i7.

You might be able to find the OS a little bit cheaper if you hunt around. We will nearly all be using Windows 10 next year so a cheap version of Windows 7 or 8 and then using the free upgrade should work well.

If you know anyone who had the preview build ISO for Windows 10 then you can put that on and get the Windows 10 OS for free.
