Hello,

I'm going to start off with my current rig specs

CPU:AMD FX-8350 Black Edition

M/B:ASUS SaberTooth 990FX R2.0

RAM:Corsair Vengeance 8GB at stock speed ( will be changing this )

GPU:Gigabyte R9-270X 4GB

PSU:Corsair Builder Series 750 watt

I plan on upgrading my GPU to the ASUS Strix GTX 970,I was wondering if this will be a good upgrade for my current rig? I also plan on over-clocking my CPU (which will mean putting a Water-cooler on it )

I was also thinking about eventually doing a SLI with the Strix, would that be a wise move? I hear that a SLI GTX 970,is better than a Titan x.

It is not a must but the builder series is a 80 plus bronze rated part and it is one of their lower end parts. Not that it is not good, I have used them in many builds when I built PCs for a shop, but if you are doing something like SLI you want to have something that has a higher rating as it will typically mean better efficiency, better components and longer life.

As for 1080P ultra, that is a bit hard to say for some games. I wont say that Fallout 4 wont be able to but it really depends on how well the game is optimized. I think SLI GTX 970s will work fine.
A single to start will be good but unless you plan to game at over 1080P then SLI would be pointless.

If you do plan to game at higher than 1080P then I would also suggest you upgrade the PSU. The Corsair builder series is not bad but I wouldn't run them with SLI. I would do at least a 80 plus gold certified PSU from Corsair or a good brand instead. Especially considering that CPU you have will suck power like no other when you overclock it.

1:Yeah,I just want play my games on Ultra,at 1080p with 60 FPS,such as Fallout 4

2:So upgrading my PSU when I go eventually ( if ever ) go SLI is a must? Thanks for the speedy reply!
