Hi

I live in the UK as you might not know weather is not great most of the time. Anyway I have 2 servers at home that I use from time to time, I just cannot decide if putting them in my garage would be a good idea, yes I could he a connection towards them no problem but what about the weaher ? Mean my garage is all brick built and has a door and all that but if say I did not put the servers on for 2 days and it was a cold day would it make the solder go brittle?

What do you think?

Solution
I'd be more concerned about humidity then temp but, behind corrosion, thermal cycling is the primary reason for the failure of electronic connections. So avoiding thermal extremes is desirable.

If you're using mechanical harddrives, they say the worst thing for them are changing temperatures. You're better off letting them run in a high stable temperature than fluctuating. "High" still needs to be within specs.
