thats the link but i was wondering if anyone knows if this card is can run on a 680w psu and how hot it will get/will it throttle? Also when i looked up the model number on newegg it shows it as a 290, can anyone confirm this as being a 290 because the site i bought it off of shows it as a 290x

Diamond is on my personal "Do Not Buy" list for a variety of problems in years past, mainly boiling down to a lack of competence. With other products out there, I have no reason to risk Diamond. YMMV of course; my issues are technical/quality-related in this case, not moral (as they are with companies that outright lie about their products).

Can a 290X run on a 680W PSU? Yes it can. I run a 290X on a 600W PSU and have no problems at all. As long as the PSU is of good quality, then it's enough.

If you look at the pic on the site it says "290" and not "290X".

Also its tempting to buy the cheaper/unknown brands and saving cash BUT I find that it is never worth it. You will end up spending more than it would cost to get the real product from a reputable brand; At least that's how it always goes for me.
