I have had problems with my system for 5 days. It started turning the power off on Monday. Now I can't get it to even load BIOS.

I am unsure if it is a PSU or MB issue, but now am leaning towards MB, having disconnected the PSU and shorted the green wire to start it and it runs OK.

This morning I bread boarded the MB. With only the CPU and SATA SSD, could get the beeps to say the RAM was missing.

I removed everything and tried to reinstall, but now cannot even get to the beeps. As soon as the case start button is pressed, the four PHASE LED lights illuminate, the fans start then 1 or 2 seconds later power goes off. After may be 5 seconds, the system tried to start again, but fails. It will keep doing this until I turn power off on the PSU.

I don't have a 'spare' MB or PSU, and wonder if there is any other test I can do?

On Tuesday when I could still run the system, I used HWMonitor and got these values just before the system stopped for the last time,

Thanks very much for replying.

1) With 1 RAM stick etc., no boot. PSU and system starts Phase lights come on but before getting to POST, everything turns off.

2) I am on an island, a 2 hour ferry, journey from the nearest PC shop. I was hoping I could identify the failed item (PSU or MB)then I will order the replacement by mail order.

Because you did the paper clip test on PSU, also the voltages, +3.3V, +5V, =12V do look good. And I guess either the MB or cpu has problem, because you don't have other parts to test to confirm the MB or cpu has problem, so just guess, the MB most likely die.

In the absence of any other responses, and after the testing I have done, I also think on the balance of probabilities it is MB which has failed. Thanks for your advice.
