Is this a ok temperature for a HD?

"Thanks. It makes noises sometimes when the computer is on, loud aircraft sounding noise."

Possibly your CPU or GPU fan working overtime to get rid of the heat.

It isn't very bad, but I found from experimenting on a number of drives that keeping it around 30C makes them last significantly longer. I wouldn't worry too much about 40, it is over 45-50 where the problems become apparent.

I will listen for that. I know I heard the hd spin hard and loud many times.
