Hello fellow gamers,

A week ago I build a gaming pc with i7 7700, gtx 1060, 16g ram 2133 mhz

My concern is that the cpu should not be running at 75 (avarage) - 85(maximum) C while running a game (stock cooler)..it mostly stays at 72-75 C while under load from the games that I play such as GTA Online, Reinbow Six Siege, Overwatch..

I ll buy a MasterCooler 212 Evo next week but my question is can I run it at these temps (with the stock cooler) this week until I get the MasterCooler arrives, its a big deal?? Or should I stop gaming until it comes? Also I have this curiosity, can a CPU like mine be damaged by just staying at 80 C for 15 minutes?

The i7-7700 should be running under heavy load at 60-70ºC. GTA Online is a very demanding game, therefore, I wouldn't recommend playing it with a stock cooler — at least try to lower your graphics/video settings if you want to play it so bad. It's known that Intel's stock coolers are crap, unlike AMD's.

And for your curiosity, no, running a CPU at 80ºC for 15 minutes will not damage your CPU (these things are made to handle boiling point), but running it for longer than that can significantly lessen your CPU's lifetime (i.e., permanent damage).
