I am about to do my first build and I have no idea what power supply I should use.

Intel Core i5-3570K
ASRock Z77 Extreme4
G. Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (2 x 8)
GTX 660
2 x Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200 RPM
Samsung 840 Pro SSD
Blu-ray burner

I do plan on making some upgrades later on, such as another video card.

These are the two PSUs I am considering:

Corsair HX 850

or

SeaSonic M12II 620

Budget is an issue. If I can save $75 and go with the smaller one, that would be my preference, but if it's more realistic to get the other one, I'm willing to do it.

I'm confused, you're saying that to run the GTX Sli will require a minimum of 620W, but I should pick the PSU that maxes out at 620?

Sorry I meant to say that if you would CF or SLI get the Corsair. I fixed the line.

That 620w recommendation takes into account your other components and gives you plenty of headroom. Realhardtechx maintains the most comprehensive power supply database on the internet and their recommendations can be trusted. 660 Sli will not max that power supply. Also when Nvidia or Amd or even a site like Realhardechx makes a recommendation they have to assume you have a low quality "generic" power supply that does not really produce it's rated power. The Seasonic is a Seasonic and they are the best. A high quality unit like that can actually provide more wattage than it is rated at.
