I'd like to pickup a razer stealth with 4k touchscreen. It comes with the external GPU enclosure and has a gtx 1060. He's asking 1000 but I'm going to try for 800.
Then, I want to purchase this Monitor at microcenter for 430$.
I plan to use it to code and to do some gaming.
I have a history of finding kinks and issues only after purchase regardless of my research so I'm wondering if this is a good idea.
Or if anyone knows a better solution with similar quality but within my budget. Thank you

Solution
What configuration of the Stealth?

Do you need a laptop for any reason?

I suspect the Stealth, at that kind of used price, is probably going to be underwhelming for coding etc.... i7-7500U, maybe? Dual core with HT....

Even if the CPU checks out (as good as it can in a laptop), you're then looking at 1440p Ultrawide, high refresh gaming...... With a 1060?

In short no, this doesn't strike me as a wise buy. A decent deal at $800, yeah, probably.... if you want a Razer Blade.... but for your defined use-case, it doesn't seem particularly fit for purpose.
