Is this a worthy upgrade?

My current build is a Amd 8350 and a Amd 270x gpu, and 8gb of ram. It’s starting to get slow and doesn’t run very well as it’s now about 4 years old.

I found a pc in Beat Buy for an iBuyPower with the Ryzen 1400, rx 580 4gb gpu, and 8gb of ram. This pc is prices at $750.

I haven’t been keeping up with the market as of late, so I’m not sure if that’s a worthy upgrade over what I currently got? I use my pc to game(though I’m not a “ultra quality” everything guy) and for Game/App Development and 3D modeling and animation.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

That would be a HUGE upgrade from what you have currently. The RX 580 is more than twice as powerful as the 270x. Also, the first generation Ryzen chipset is going to be supported through 2020 so you can upgrade the chip as budget allows with say an eight core Ryzen 1700. With that said, I'd look into getting 16GB memory, especially if you are coding or working with video graphics programs. Unfortunately right now memory prices are through the roof due to strong DRAM chip demands from smart phones and the server market competing with general desktop memory production output.

Also I'd contact iBuyPower's support and see if that PC can be upgraded with a higher end first generation Ryzen. Some PC vendors lock down their BIOS's so you...
