Hello! I recently purchased an Acer xb271hu gaming monitor from Microcenter. I was very scared to pull the trigger because I heard of how bad Ips glow can be on this monitor,
but I decided to get it. There is some ips glow on the left side and it is very annoying to me. Is this ips glow acceptable? Should I return it or will I get a worse one?

I don't know if the picture is just accentuating it but that looks horrid. There's something wrong with that.

You won't notice any difference from response times as none should have ghosting issues at 5ms. Don't confuse that with input lag. I have a 1ms tn asus monitor and this 5ms lg ips among other monitors.
That's a problem with IPS as a whole. You see enthisiasts post about these things. But I can grab a bunch of other IPS monitors and show you that it's the same on all of them. It's very rare to get a perfect sample.

Nobody can answer that question, because again it depends, you're either lucky or you're not lucky. Only the pro monitors don't have defective IPS panels, because welll.... pros use them, and they cost A LOT, no gaming features here.

With that said, I've seen worse images of defects than that. If it's annoying, then return it.

Only you can answer that question. If you can live with it, live with it. If you can't, return it.

Just a question; assuming you're coming from a 1ms TN panel, do you notice any difference in response time?
Or does it feel the same?
I'd like to get an idea of the transition feeling for people coming from high resposne TN! :)

I just thought that given that 5ms is crossing the one frame barrier of response time at 144hz whether it had any significance in whether movements felt less crisp or a little sluggish compared to faster pixel response time TN counterparts due to slight ghosting difference when someone is swapping after a long period of use, a little survey if you will.
Although I see what you mean, input lag wasn't the focus, I just worded the other post poorly :)
