I have never built a PC before, and I would like to get into it. And, I would like to know, how exactly do I know if my parts will work together or not and if its a good gaming pc?

Here is my build, I don't know if it works together. So, if it doesn't please don't make fun of me.
CPU:Intel Core i5-6600K 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1151
Motherboard:Intel Core i5-6600 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1151
Storage: Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB
Memory:G.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Intel Z170
Video Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5
Case: Rosewill TYRFING ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case
PSU: EVGA 100-B1-0500-KR 80 PLUS Bronze 500W Active PFC ATX12V v2.31/EPS 12V v2.91 Power Supply

Everything is fine but the Motherboard, you actually listed a processor as your motherboard. You also need a aftermarket cpu cooler since the i5 6600k doesnt come with one, i put some parts for you here but everything is compatible

srry this is my mobo:ASRock H170A-X1/3.1 LGA 1151 Intel H170 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
and my processor is: Intel Core i5-6600 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1151

Oh okay since your not overclocking the i5 6500 is still good with a H170 motherboard, You should change the Hdd to a WD Caviar blue , change your power supply to a XFX 550W, and you could probably change the r9 290 to a 390 if you can afford it

are they nessecery or just sugestion?

They aren't neccessary but the 390 is just a rebranded 290 but with 8GB gddr5, But I highly recommend getting that Power supply or something similar because that EVGA one isnt that good

bc i bought all this installed every piece and when i open it the fans and everything starts but nothing happen on the screen?
