Is this build all compatible?

Solution

There were some compatibility problems with your first build (CPU/Motherboard weren't compatible)
This build is leaps and bounds more powerful: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/31d4g
Well your $1200 doesn't include taxes or shipping, and comes out $1400 if you're in Ontario getting it shipped, so do we get to go to $1400 too for the build? You say the $1200 has to include taxes and shipping but your build doesn't, so I'm confused.

What province are you in.

your motherboard is not compatable with your cpu. other than that you should be good to go, but you selected an intel cpu and an amd motherboard. i will build you a computer for $1200 and you can decide if you like it or not. or you can use the one you have, but pick a different motherboard.

I live in Victoria BC which is only a couple hours from the ncix facility. So there is no tax and shipping is 25$ i only go over by about 5$.

Ok cool. that would be great thanks :)

I dont need a monitor, an os, or a keyboard or mouse. Those arent needed :)

Colour doesnt matter at all. I dont care either way 😛

Also I would like the parts to be in Canada and not in the US. As there is no way im paying duty and other absurd taxes.Which is why I used NCIX as its 25$ shipping with no taxes.

Thats the thing though I am in Canada I would have to pay duty and taxes..which would make it way over 1200$

Use ca.pcpartpicker.com. It's great :)

What do you think of my suggestion, frontgunner?

Thing is, I dont think I will be able to order from so different places, really only one. I will have to check. As I am not paying for the build..the government is lol. So I gotta check if it is allowed. I would prefer it to be all in one place at one store in canada.

Here you go! I had to change some parts around due to availability/different pricing, but the performance is the same. Also, there are a ton of rebates you can take advantage of, so even with Taxes it should be under $1200 (it's $1184 without taxes right now)

I hope that helps!

It's not bad! You would want to include an OS though.
Also I think you're underpaying on some of the important part and overpaying on the not so important parts. The case for example, if you went with a $40 case, you could put the difference towards a motherboard that you can overclock with as well as a modular corsair PSU.

I also think you would want 2x4GB for RAM instead of 1x8GB. The RAM will be literally twice as fast with dual channel. Not a huge deal, but since there's an SSD in the build you want high RAM bandwidth to preserve the low loading times.

Also, the 60GB SSD is a little on the small side. 120GB is usually a good, budget minimum. Check out the Samsung 840 EVO. It's awesome.

The rest of the stuff is preference based, like the BlueRay player or 2 TB HDD. I really like that you included a wireless adapter though. I forgot to ask if he would need one!

Here's how I would change it around: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/31foS

You get roughly the same feature set with more performance and a lower price. This is actually a more balanced build than the build I suggested. Mine was rather gaming oriented.

OMG thanks a lot! So one last question this is basically everything I need to get the computer up and running? I have a copy of an OS already handy it is windows 7,but I can get 8 for free. It comes to 1250$ with shipping and taxes but I am talking to someone now who might be able to swing it for me. yah great, so again this everything i need to get it up and running and play games right away?

thank you for both the constructive criticism and the compliment. you are right, a $60 case isnt all that necessary. and dual channel ram is twice as fast?? learn something new every day :)

Oh, well if you have a copy of Windows already then let me switch this around for you!

Instead of the i5-3350P and Z77 motherboard, get this processor, and this motherboard.

Just remove the Windows 8 disc from the shopping cart and it will all fit in the budget.

Man, this thing will scream! You've got some of the fastest hardware available in this build!
You can also overclock it whenever you want. Just make sure to buy a better cooler when you do though. I didn't include one right now because it wouldn't help performance too much.

And yup! It's all good to go! You just need to put it together, install the OS, install some drivers, and install the games! 😛

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yeah! Isn't that surprising? That's why people recommend it so often 😛

I also edited my comment if you want to hear some further feedback. Your build had a ton of features, which would be perfect if frontgunner needed them. The version I posted is just yours slimmed down a bit.

You forgot the harddrive just noticed the other day 😛
