Question Is this build any good?

I want to know if this build will be okay to play GTA V and newer titles like Black Ops 4 / Apex / Fortnite at medium/high settings 1080p 60fps.

Any issues with this build?

Your build will work.
But,
A balanced gamer will budget about 2x the cost of the processor for the graphics card.
Consider re arranging your budget to buy a stronger graphics card and a less expensive processor.

Also, that ssd has some 22% negative reviews on newegg. It is cheap for a reason.
Buy a Samsung evo for performance and quality.

Ive changed the Mobo to a better mobo, I dropped the cpu to a ryzen 5 1600, and changed the ssd to the 860 evo.

Is this better? Or should I still get the 2600 ryzen 5 and pay the extra 30 bucks?

I cant afford to get a better GPU and the 1060 3gb will be light years ahead of my current gpu (gtx 750 1gb) so Im fine with it.

Also this pc will not be strictly for gaming, Ill also be editing music so I need the CPU to be good which is why I was going for the 2600.

The 1060 3gb will be good enough for what games I wanna play and graphics settings.

also, with the build how it is, if I should stick with the 1600, would it be better to upgrade my ram speed to 3000 or upgrade gpu to 6gb? thoughts?

I like the changes.
What you get with a 2600 is a slightly better clock rate.
For $30 go ahead and buy the 2600. If you do not, you will forever wonder if you should have.

Okay so I changed it back to the 2600 and for 3$ more I upgraded the ram from 2666 to 3000 which I could not pass up for 3$ more.

However the ram is a different brand, havent heard a lot about it, but will it be fine?

Here is the "final" build. Everything look good?

this system almost seems like a absolute STEAL to me especially with the 40$ mail in rebates.

Definitely stick with the 2nd gen Ryzen 2600 over 1600. Also, gotta get 16gb RAM, and considering you can for only $25 more. And swap for good SSD to save some money cuz of upping to 2600.

Memory: GeIL - EVO SPEAR 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial - MX500 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($49.95 @ Amazon)

Last, I'd look for used gtx 1060 6gb that are used. Lots of people selling them now cuz of new gtx 1660 and 1660ti.

did you see my last price list on here?

I upgraded the ssd to a samsung evo 860 250gb ssd :)

also I can only afford the 8gb of ram at the moment. But my mobo has 4 slots so later down the line I can throw another 2 sticks in if needed :)

this is because Im ordering the pc next week and will only have 700$ max. thanks for the suggestion though :)

what kinda differences would 16gb have over 8gb?

also, Id rather not buy used. need all components to be brand new :) thanks for suggestion tho!

If you are just gaming and not multitasking, then 8gb is fine.
But, as you indicated if you are editing and can have enough tasks in ram to make a 12 thread processor work, you probably need 16gb.

You can't just "throw in another 8gb"

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
The internal workings are designed for the capacity of the kit.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards, can be very sensitive to this.
This is more difficult when more sticks are involved.

Either buy your 16gb up front or plan on replacing the 8gb with a 16gb kit later down the line.

thanks for the info man. Yea if and when I need 16gb Ill just get it later on.

editing the music I edit on a normal bases never used 8gb of ram, its mostly CPU processing. Im sure ram plays a role in the processing of the CPU but this new CPU will be probably more than what I need for music editing. What I do isnt very intensive. Maybe 10-12 vocal tracks max. I dont do live instruments or beats. Just vocal mixes. And all of this is inside of 1 program, so Idk if all the vocal tracks playing at ones would be considered multitasking? Or is it having multiple programs open at once?

I appreciate all the help, Im going to get this build next week :)

As for RAM, 8gb was enough for gaming in 2015, but in 2019 you need 16gb if you want to make a new system that is made to last. I hit 9gb RAM usage in BF V. Besides gaming, other programs consume a lot too.

yea I just cant afford it atm. So ill upgrade ram down the line.

Watched quite a few videos benchmarking the 1060 3gb and the Ryzen 5 2600 on most games ill be playing with 8gb of ram. Works great. So Im sure ill be fine for now.

Thanks for all your guys help :) if theres any other suggestions feel free to leave them :)

Got the build setup :)

Thanks to everyone for helping me figure out a new build :)

I dont know what to choose as the best answer as I took a little of everyones advice, so if a mod could pick a solution and mark as solved that would be great :)

BTW is there anything I can do for better cable management?
