Hi my current pc is starting to lack performance wise with the newer games coming out. now and then i manage to save enough to buy a new part and i am now looking to upgrade my cpu,ram and motherboard.

Current build is

Case:Cougar ATX MX300 Case Black with Window
CPU: Intel Core i5-2310 CPU @2.90GHz 3.20GHz
Motherboard: currently don't know but its pretty shitty
Graphics card : NVIDIA GTX760 2GB ASUS PCIe Video Card PN GTX760-DF-2GD5
PSU: 750 Watt Cougar RS750 80+ Power Supply
Memory: 6gb

Final build im looking at is

Red indicates new hardware im upgrading to
Case:Cougar ATX MX300 Case Black with Window
CPU:Intel S1150 Core i7 4790 3.60Ghz Quad Core
Motherboard:MSI S1150 MicroATX B85M-E45 Motherboard
Graphics card :NVIDIA GTX760 2GB ASUS PCIe Video Card PN GTX760-DF-2GD5
Memory:DDR3 8GB (2x4G) 1600MHz Kingston HyperX FURY Blue RAM PN HX316C10FK2/8
PSU: 750 Watt Cougar RS750 80+ Power Supply

As i said before i really need a cpu upgrade since its almost 7 years old now but i need help with the simple principle of is it all compatible. Im only worried about the motherboard and the cpu compatibility.

if you find that there is some parts that are not compatible i only have access to my local computer shop which is http://www.computeralliance.com.au/ and i have a $700 limit on upgrading my cpu/ motherboard and ram so that i can play future games for a while.

thanks

The only Issue you may have according to pcpartpicker.com is that some of the Intel B85 chipsets may require a BIOS update to use the haswell refresh processors so i would just download the latest BIOS if it does not have it, again refer to the manual or contact MSI to make sure that the 4790 will work. That is the only issue you have.

how about a MSI S1150 MicroATX Z97M-G43 Motherboard instead of the one i picked would that be better and not require a BIOS update ?

Yes it would because it will support the 5th gen processors which are the haswell-refreash.

Thank you for putting that straight.
