Is this build decent?

Hi i habe the case, ram, gpu, psu and was wondering if the other options where a decent idea, not looking for overclocking, tiny bit of room for budget
gpu - 970 gigabyte itx
psu - cooler master v650s
case - nzxt 410
ram (4x4gb) Crucial BLS4G3D1609DS1S00CEU
mobo - Asus H97-PRO, Intel H97
cpu cooler - be quiet! dark rock
cpu - xeon e3 1231v3

why not xeon? the 1231v3 is an excellent processor for its price. if anything change the power supply to something in tier 2 of the power supply list.

but since you already own it i wouldn't worry much about it. everything looks fine.

What are you planning on using the system for?

If its for gaming, a good H97 motherboard from MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS or ASRock + an i5 4690 would be a better choice!

the 1231v3 is faster than the 4690 in every way. ok well maybe 4% slower in single core performance, but near 20% faster in highly threaded apps.

yeah i was told but as im not looking to overclock, i was told that xeon would perform better all around

When you say you have the other components, do you mean you actually own them already? Or are already set on buying them?

You could easily get a smaller 550w PSU if you want to save some money. For the ram I suggest getting 2x8gb rather than 4x4Gb. Other than that it looks good.

Ok in that case then you can spend £310 on a Xeon set up, or £250 on an i5 set up. The Xeon is essentally an i7 without integrated graphics, so will perform better, but whether the price/performance ratio is enough, is up to you!
