Question Is this charger supposed to charge my laptop?

I have the power brick, but what I want is to charge without the brick, but simply with a USB cable, because I don't want to carry the heavy brick in my backpack. Is that possible?

I don't know why you expected a 5v charger to work, but that listing specifically says to use with a USB Type-C with Power Delivery power brick, which is 100w at 5A/20v or up to 240w at even higher voltages. As you'd expect, those are pretty big.

5v at 2.1A is 10.5w which could not be expected to charge a laptop, plus the adapter probably doesn't have a boost converter to convert 5v to 19v either.

your still going to need a power brick of some kind a usb 2.0 doesnt have enough voltage to charge anything like a laptop. as bfg 9000 stated you just cant plug in and go from 5v to 19v.

make and model of laptop ?
