Is this computer future proof?

Hello everyone,

I need help with my pc build and i need some feedback before I continue to change my existing system.

Right now my pc specs are:

Intel Core i5-4440 @ 3.10GHz
8 Gb DDR3 1600MHz (2x4Gb)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 3G
Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-D2V

I want to change cpu from i5-4440 to i7-4770.

So the question is:

Should I change my existing cpu to a newer one? And if I do, will it be enough for future?

If you have other suggestions for cpu, please leave a comment below.

Solution
Nah this is a CPU bottleneck

If you can wait another month or two I'd do that.
AMD will release it's new CPU line which will either be pretty attractive or at least make Intel drop prices another 10-20 bucks.

Depending on the age of the PSU is keep some $ in the bank in case it breaks. It's not known for it's reliability and durability.

No editing is being done on my part. I just need a CPU who could withstand 2017 and 2018 game titles.
Because right now I feel like my GPU is bottlenecking CPU and I can't get the most of my system.

I could spend up to $350 on CPU if need be, but I think there are CPUs that cost less than $300 and could
keep me going for 1 or 2 years. Maybe not that long -.-

All I need is a few suggestions.

P.S. Thanks for responding Isokolon.

Well check first if you're bottlenecked by the CPU or GPU

Enter a game and play with max detail settings @1080p. Monitor your FPS for a few mins
Then turn all detail and graphics settings to minimum @1080p.
If your FPS stay roughly the same it's time to upgrade the CPU
If your FPS go up @low settings it's the GPU.

The problem with CPU upgrades is if you were to upgrade and spend a bunch of money I'd not invest in a 4 year old CPU like the i7-4770 but in current generation CPUs
But that requires a new board + ram as well

I did what you said. I played The Witcher 3 on Ultra settings and Low settings.
On Ultra I got 35-43 fps.
On Low I got 60 fps (uncapped).

So that means my GPU is bottlenecking my CPU? Am I right?

And I have calculated that i could spend on a cheaper CPU and buy new board with ram.

Don't really know if this build is good enough.

CPU: i5-6600 3.3GHz
Board: MSI H110 Gaming Micro ATX
RAM: Kingston Savage 8Gb (2x4Gb) 2133Mhz
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming 3g(the one I have right now)
PSU: Corsair VS 550W ATX
