Hello!
I have gotten myself a computer not that long ago and I'm happy with it but everyone is talking about those nvidia 3070 / 3080 / 3090 and so on and it feels like no one has less than that and everything below 3070 is outdated and bad. Most people usually say that whatever they have is the best and everything below that is budget to them, even someone that had a 3070 told me that he would get something better like 3080TI or something when he gets money, I just don't understand all this.
What is considered a good computer now adays? I understand that a computer with a 3090 is a good computer, but what is more of a "normal computer" since buying a graphic card for like $2500 isn't really normal. I'll link to what my computer has and please let me know what you guys think of it, thanks. https://gyazo.com/0a83143f0662dc002376425c996c4363

Your rig is faster than most have....; the 11600k was/is plenty, if not quite as desirable as the 12600K these days, and your 3060 is certainly lasting longer than my poor GTX1060(6 GB) which is now just 3 months short of 5 years old...

(Best to just be happy with how it performs vice worrying if someone else get's 20% higher FPS but likely does not know it or can't see it anyway)

They are just being computer snobs flexing their GPU's and tiny PPs, best advice I can give you is ignore them. Are you experiencing any problems with your system or are you running 2k/4k at high refresh rates and require a super computer to get the games running how you want? To me you have a beast of a system and I wouldn't worry about it, many would love to own your PC.

What is good? A pc that meets your needs.

Everyone has different needs and for gaming that can be a massive difference from one person to the next. For example what monitor will you use? 1080p, 1440p, 4K, ultra wide? Then is it 60Hz, 120-165Hz, 240Hz or 360Hz? Then are you wanting to max out the latest AAA game settings or run older games at medium settings?

My main pc has a 3080 for 1440p 240Hz (although only just changed from 1440p 144Hz). For 1440p 144Hz I can see why a lot of people would be happy with even a 3060/3060Ti. However I also have a laptop with a 2060 (significantly weaker than a desktop 2060) and this still does a great job at 1080p 144Hz as long as I run medium settings in new AAA games.

It depends on your resolution. Personally I would have went with a cheaper cpu (i5 11400F), cheaper board (B560) and cheaper cpu cooler and took the savings and stepped up to a 3060 Ti if the resolution was 1080P.

Thanks man, i have no issues at all with my PC, im playing in 1080p at 144hz

I bought this computer prebuilt but it's a proper gaming company like those origin / nzxt and so on, but a swedish version. So long warranty even tho i could exchange a part if i wanted to, also very nice cable-management and good support and so on. So i couldn't really pick the parts i wanted, since parts are so hard to come by now, especially graphic-cards i decided to go for prebuilt since it's a very easy plug-n-play too. I'm playing with 144hz in 1080p.

I'm playing in 144hz at 1080p and have no fps issues in any game even at ultra, so it's obvious that i have a good computer, but i just feel sad sometimes when it feels like it's standard to have at least a 3080 otherwise u having a budget computer and since i recently bought mine i wanted to be happy =(

Thanks, well i had a i5 3570k before so the upgrade was pretty huge in terms of cpu, i also had a 970 as well as ddr3 memory and HDD and so on, so the upgrade overall was quite big for me. The 12600k is ofc better since it's newer than 11600k, but i could wait until next year and get the 13600k, and wait for the 4000s graphic card and ddr5 and so on, but at some point u have to just decide when u want to upgrade, since u can basically wait forever since things releases all the time. If you wait for that 4060 or something, u can wait longer for a TI version too, u get the point.. u gonna end up just waiting and in 6 years we will laugh at 3090. I could play alot of games on a 970 even today, so i think my 3060 will last awhile too especially the 11600k since it's barely a year old now,

There is zero point in a 3080 for 1080p 144Hz. It’s far better suited to 1440p or above with high Hz. It sounds like you have a good balance of gpu power for your needs/monitor. If these people you are comparing too are also running 1080p they are not utilising the full potential of the gpu and getting no benefit over a lower tier gpu and wasted money.

Discussion like that in the current market is indicative of people that have more money than sense or more likely kids whose parent equivocate money with love and buy them anything they want. Suspect the latter. Obviously, there are exceptions and people who really need that manner of compute power...(aside from miners)

I have never spent more than ~$600 on a GPU and wasn't specifically happy about it then. I have ZERO intention of buying anything GPU related in this current market. It's insane.

A really good indicator of where "the average man" is with their gaming system is to check the Steam Hardware Survey. For sure the developers who make and hope to sell games do. Even the hardest games to play on the market today will work on the average system reported there. It may not be as much eye candy or the trendy (flex) resolution, but operable.
IMO the sweet spot is still on 1080p gaming. You can still build a system at reasonable cost which can run almost anything at a solid 1080/60.

Your current system checks those boxes and more. Unless these "people say" are willing to jump in their wallet for your upgrade to what they see as appropriate, take with a grain of salt.

Thanks alot for your comment, there are alot of people out there that be like "well if i had your computer, i would probably get a 3070 instead, maybe switch the cpu to 12600k, maybe do this and that, i mean u get to a point were u literally don't need more like u mentioned. It's not necessary to have a 3090 for 1080p, last game i played was Raft, everything on extreme(ultra) and 260 fps, what els do I need. I have 100+ fps all the time in the far cry games at max settings too. I have a mate that doesn't have the fps i have but he still able to play the games on lower settings and he uses a 6 year old cpu, so that u always have to upgrade everytime something comes out isn't necessary at all. Some people also say that "waiting for the 12600k is better, or waiting for the 4000s seriers is better" but then u just end up waiting forever, since things will release all the time, ddr5 ram and TI version of graphic cards and so on.
Really appreciate your comment, thanks.

I consider your parts to be very good.
It has a good balance between cpu and gpu.
The psu and m.2 is of top quality.

I am not a fan of aio coolers.

Okey thanks, my last cpu (i5 3570k haha) had just a stock fan, so this aio cooler thing seems pretty cool to me and my cpu is never above 50c even in games and its quiet, so i dont see any problems with it to be honest, thanks for your comment!

Ya, i have mates that also play in 1080p, they always say "but 3080 is better than 3060, so more fps" well ya, but whats the difference between 240 and 270 fps in a game lol, it's pointless if u not going above 1080p. But i feel much smarter after i made this post tbh haha and i understand now that people talk alot and it's not always the reality.

He may not get extra fps with a 3080. At a certain point the maximum fps is dictated by the cpu and RAM regardless of gpu choice. Hence why running a 3080 at 1080p is just a waste, it won’t be utilised or give any better performance than a lower tier card.

Everyone here would love to be running a 3090, but most of us don't, and most would not pay for it unless one was given to them, even at msrp. This is due to overall price point and unrealized performance. Between crappy market conditions, parts shortage, and the bloated price tags the most sold card right now is a 1060 so don't think that everyone is running 3080s, or 3000 cards at all. Top shelf equipment like the 3090 (Titan under old moniker) under prior conditions is a relatively low volume card relative to the mid tier 70 series because of price point and the 70 series right now is only available at the old titan prices. You have to be seriously cash flush or desperate to pay for a GPU right now. If my card popped I would either be going full integrated graphics with the hope that prices come back to msrp in the next year or two (which is a real possibility when fab production catches back up) or prebuilt (and I really hate prebuilds). I have been building with discrete graphics since the 90's. I am running a 1080ti and under normal circumstances I will turn my card about every two generations. Under normal conditions I would be turning this thing out to pasture for a 3080ti but under these conditions it is a run it till it blows thing.
