Amd athlon x4 2.9 ghz Quad Core Processor.

Foxconn Motherboard HDMI Sata.

4 Gb of Patroit Gaming Ram.

320 Gb 7200 rpm Western Digital hard drive.

RaidMax 550 Watt Modular Power Supply.

Radeon HD 5770 xfx 1GB

RAIDMAX Tornado Computer Case

Windows 7 Ultimate.

Samsung Dvd Burner

They are asking 500$ for this build any thoughts?

Yep. The Athlon X4 is a good mid-grade CPU as is the HD 5770. Key there is mid-grade... In order to run "all the PC games that are out" in high FPS, you will need to overclock the CPU and upgrade the GPU. Any AMD build today should be with an AM3+ motherboard to allow for a CPU upgrade down the road. Also, the power supply is OK at best as is the hard drive.

HD = Samsung F3
PSU = Antec, Corsair, XFX, or Seasonic

For comparison, $600 will easily get you into a Phenom X4, HD 6850, 1TB HD, 4GB of memory and OS license if you plan on building yourself.

considering am3+ just came out and am3 is still new they willl always be upgrading the sockets... they were just saying about 2 months ago if u wanted to allow a cpu upgrade down the road to get a am3 socket lol now look...

i would just like to get peoples thoughts on the build because it is my own... and someone tried telling me that is not considered a gaming pc when i know better i built it and have been doing so for awhile now... he also told me that u can buy a radeon hd 5770 for 75 dollars anywhere lol... its not a high end one no.. but def a budget gaming pc that could run most games out right now... like black ops and stuff
