[SOLVED] Is this CPU worth it?

This is my first build. Current list is https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/qVY9rV
I am looking to run games like gta v, arma, squad and other AAA and open world games. Will this build last? Also is the CPU worth upgrading? It would put me over budget so I am hoping this build will be sufficient for a few years (2-3). I also hope all parts will work together.

Edit: Not looking to overclock or play in 4K. Just 1080p 60 fps.

Solution
I'd rather get a 3600 than a 2700X

Rest of your parts look fine. Do you already own the CX550M?

Low quality for performance system (ESPECIALLY THE GREEN LABEL ONES). Its not super bad for just general use as long as its a NEW model if its the ones from 2015-2017 id not risk it.
<<Edited>> Seems to be dated back to 2016. Ill return it since its still in its original package. Any recommendations?

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product...ified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-550fm - About the cheapest I see on ca.pcpartpicker.

And a little more expensive but better yet: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product...fied-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-550fx
Here is a review going along with that one: https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2017/08/21/seasonic-focus-plus-550-gold-power-supply

Also quite good
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product...ed-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-220-g3-0550

And the cheapest Corsair unit I would use: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product...-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020177-na

I also hope you pick a decent cooler too. If you don't a budget Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO isn't bad at all.

The more expensive version is dated to 2017. Should I be worried? Also my GPU has a minimum of 550W. Is this a cause for concern?

yea I just recently bought it. Still in its original package. I keep getting different opinions from those I ask for help from so finalizing my build has been hard. As you can probably guess I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to pc. Shouldn't be a problem to return the cxm 550.

If you can return it without too much trouble then I would recommend doing so. It's not horrible but there are much better options.
As for the cpu you recommended. How long do you think it will last. By that I mean will it give me good performance in games for a year or two? Also the motherboard has a compatibility issue on the list you provided. Is that something I should be worried about?

No one knows what the future holds, but if you're sticking with 60 fps gaming I think you should be good for at least several years with that CPU.

You can ignore the compatibility warning, it's not a concern with any of MSI's "MAX" boards.

There are some cheaper MAX boards as well, but I went with that one given the Tomahawk is what you had originally been looking at.

Ok ya. If you could take a trip to a microcenter you could save 90 bucks off the bat
2700x 159.00 plus 30.00 off mobo
1) He is in Canada, so those are Canadian dollars and Canadian prices.

2) There are no MicroCenters in Canada. And even in the United States, that chain only has 25 locations in 16 states, so most people don't live anywhere near one.

Ya I understand that.
There is such things as Road Trip.
Even if the OP were willing to do what would be a minimum of ~12 hours of driving (assuming they lived right on the border closest to an MC) for the sake of buying some computer parts, paying 160 USD (plus duties) for a 2700X is not "saving 90 bucks" compared to paying 265 CAD. So it does not seem that you understand...

@mrtaco12 FYI the Ryzen 3600X is currently on sale on amazon.ca for $230, cheaper than the 3600 non-X. Looks like that's the lowest it's even been by a pretty decent margin.

I think it'd be an excellent option for you. For motherboard, the MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX, B450-A Pro MAX, or Tomahawk MAX would all be fine options.

Watch the, now edited, "colorful" language, please. Thank you.
