Question Is this Dell Optiplex 7040 any good for gaming ?

Hi, i was looking for a budget PC for my other house, and i found Dell Optiplex 7040 for 145$.

It has i5-6500, 16GB of DDR4 RAM etc.

My question is, is it usable with HD 530 (Integrated) for some gaming like Fortnite, FIFA, probably GTA V but not neccessary.
I don't expect much, maybe 40-60 fps. I plan to use it until i get more money for GPU.

Another question: Is it good value for money ?

I doubt you'd be able to game off of the iGPU. Maybe very reduced details at 720p or 1080p resolution. Which variant of the OptiPlex 7040 did you pick up? The Micro(which has an M at the end of the 7040), Small Form Factor or the Mini Tower?

+ perhaps prepare yourself for probably a very entry-level discrete GPU or none at all with that little PSU.

you won't be able to game properly with that Integrated Graphics. Have this idea because a year or so ago, I tried to game with UHD 630 (stronger Integrated Graphics than HD 530), many ps4 level games are unplayable or simply refused to start.

try saving up for a gpu.

agreed, 145$ is a good deal on that pc. I suggest buying that, and use the integrated graphics for awhile as you slowly save up for a gpu - even a GT 1030 GDDR5 should be a big improvement if you can get your hands on one.

an Optiplex can game. My backup pc (on sig) is a refurbished Optiplex 7010 from a korean store. Plays ps4 games just fine at 1080p, after I gave it a 1050ti. Also changed the power supply, because an aged psu is not safe to use for gaming.
