Is this dual monitor set up okay?

I wanted to dual monitor 2 monitors to my graphics card, but my graphics card only has 1 DVI port... Is it fine to dual monitor with 1 monitor connecting to the graphics card via DVI and another monitor to the motherboard via vga/dvi/hdmi? I would test this but I haven't bought my new monitor yet (deciding whether to get this cheaper monitor with no hdmi port).

Some board/CPU combinations allow you to use the integrated graphics and a discrete graphics card simultaneously, some do not. Does your graphics card have no other ports?

What graphics card, motherboard, and CPU do you have?

I have a evga gtx 660 SC , asrock z68 extreme 3 gen 3 motherboard and i5 2500k OC @ 4.0 Ghz

The card has dvi- d , dvi i and hdmi http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/02g-p4-2662.pdf.

There was this cheap 24 inch monitor that had dvi connections, but came with only a vga cable for some reason...... I would want to connect a vga to dvi adapter to it, but these types of connections usually have problems.
