I broke my monitor when trying to clean it a while ago.
I don't have much hope it is fixable and I'm guessing if it is it will be expensive and won't get the same performance, but wanted to check.

If it's indeed not fixable, any idea whether it is worth it putting it for sale for people who may want to fix it or use components? Is there anywhere in the UK specifically made for that (I only found places to sell iphone screens).

Not really fixable unless there’s an expert, you could try finding another LCD for that monitor but I’m sure it’ll cost as much as buying another monitor. You could sell it for parts but it might take awhile for someone to actually be interested in it. If anything just keep it as a collection for now.
